AP EUROPEAN HISTORY STUDENTS RECREATE SALON
AP European History students participated in an "Enlightenment Salon" to recreate events that took place in the 18th and 19th centuries in Europe. Salons were intellectual and social gatherings that were very popular in France where the elite and scholars would meet to discuss the issues of the time.
Students were each assigned a prominent intellectual, political, or cultural figure of the Enlightenment Era to thoroughly research to gain a deep understanding of the individual and their position on key topics. Once in character, they engaged with one another for their own salon in the classroom for a unique and hands-on way to demonstrate the importance of this era.

The students grasped the significance of the Transportation Security Administration and met a pilot. Additionally, they delved into the crucial role of Air Traffic Controllers, who oversee the safe movement of aircraft on runways, authorize takeoffs and landings, and ensure that proper runway spacing is maintained at all times.
