Youth Protection and Rechartering

Fall is not only about back to school, but also about Back to Scouting! Fall kicks off with the opportunity to go outdoors, there are camporees for both Scouts, BSA and Cub Scouts and their families. It is also the time that we grow by welcoming new families into Scouting.

Part of that process every year is our annual rechartering process. Rechartering is about confirming for the 2024 Scouting year what youth and adults are going to take part. Since a vast majority of our adult leaders join when new Scouts join, it means that they originally took Youth Protection Training (YPT) during the application process.

We wanted to remind everyone that with recharter happening, it is a really great time to check your YPT status. YPT is required to be taken by all adult leaders and adult participants (Venturing & Exploring) every two years. You can find your YPT status by going to your my.scouting account.
