A Note from the Director, Janelle Marshall

My heart is full from last week. From celebrating our graduates to culminating our spring programming with the e-Portfolio Showcase, last week was a beautiful demonstration of the power of the Mellon Pathways program and the accomplishments that can be achieved through partnership, support and mentorship. I can't wait to see all that we continue to accomplish together.

A few reminders for our students:

If you participated in the e-Portfolio Showcase, you will receive an email from me this week with instructions for processing your stipend.
Do you have an idea for a great book for our Summer Book Club? If so, please let us know!
All community college and VCU students: You will receive an email soon inviting you to participate in our annual Pathways survey. Please be on the lookout for an invitation in your inbox. We look forward to hearing about your Pathways experience and ways we can improve the work we're doing.

Events for the Week of May 1

There are no events scheduled for this week, but please save the date for our summer orientation!

May 30 from 4-6pm: Orientation for new and returning students

Our summer program will run from May 30-July 14

If you have friends, peers, family members, or students who you think might be interested in joining the Pathways Program this summer, please send them our way! They can join by completing our declaration or reaching out to Paul Williams, La'Tifha White or Briana Hernandez. If they'd like to learn more about the program, we encourage them to visit our webpage.

Our 2023 e-Portfolio Showcase was a success! We had over 25 students and 30 reviewers meet on Zoom for a wonderful presentation of the work our students have completed on their e-Portfolios. It was an enriching experience that truly highlighted the diversity of our students and the impact supportive feedback has on their success. Thank you to all of our students and reviewers for an amazing event!

Mellon Pathways Graduation!

Last week, we had an opportunity to congratulate all of our students from VCU, Brightpoint and Reynolds who are graduating this Spring. Our graduates have exciting opportunities ahead of them and we could not be more proud of their accomplishments. Thank you to Dr. Deborah Noble-Triplett, Dr. Micol Hutchison, Dr. Seth Sykes, Meredith Privott and Whitney Carswell for supporting our students.
