Appointment of Vicar for Religious

Most Reverend Gregory Parkes, Bishop of St. Petersburg, announcement the following appointment, effective October 9, 2023:

Sister Sherly Vazhappilly, FSSE as Vicar for Religious of the Diocese of St. Petersburg. She is assuming the responsibility formerly held by Sister Marlene Weidenborner, OSF. Sister Sherly will also serve as Associate Director of Vocations for the Diocese.

Religious Jubilee Mass

The celebration of this year’s Religious Jubilee Mass will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, 5815 5th Ave N, St. Petersburg, with a reception following the Mass. Most Reverend Gregory Parkes, Bishop of St. Petersburg, will be the main celebrant.

The purpose of this event is to publicly recognize and congratulate women and men from various religious institutes who reside in the Diocese of St. Petersburg and are celebrating significant anniversaries of religious life in 2023. Listed below are this year’s honorees. Congratulations to all our Jubilarians!
