Statement from Bishop Parkes - Surgery Update
On Friday, June 10th, Bishop Gregory Parkes shared the following statement regarding his surgery on Thursday, June 9th:

I want to thank everyone for your continued prayers and words of encouragement. According to my surgeon, the amputation surgery yesterday went very well . While I’m experiencing some expected pain and discomfort, overall I’m doing great. Again, I’m very grateful for all the prayers and support!

Most Reverend Gregory Parkes, Bishop of St. Petersburg, announces the following clergy appointment, effective June 13, 2022:

Rev. Msgr. Michael G. Muhr to Parochial Administrator pro tempore of St. Lawrence Parish, Tampa, continuing all other assignments.
Synod on Synodality Report Communicates How We Are Journeying Together
More than 6,000 people in the Diocese of St. Petersburg participated in the Vatican’s Synod on Synodality between October 2021 and March 2022 through listening and discernment sessions rooted in the Holy Spirit. This Synod is an opportunity to listen to each other’s joys and sorrows, and to share our hopes and dreams for the future of the Church.

A report has been created to highlight the feedback that has been received. The report is a synthesis of common themes and includes next steps for the Diocese of St. Petersburg. This information can be accessed by visiting www.JourneyingTogether.org.
