Safe Haven Sunday
Our Diocese will be observing our fourth Safe Haven Sunday on the weekend of August 20-21, 2022. The evil of pornography is a significant threat to our families. While it is, for many, an awkward topic to address, the need requires our best efforts, and Safe Haven Sunday is designed to aid us in taking on this challenge. For a series of Safe Haven Sunday resources, please click here. To view even more information on this subject, please go to our diocesan “Freedom from Pornography” webpage at this link.
Ministry Updates
Lay Pastoral Ministry Institute
An Invitation from the Lay Pastoral Ministry Institute (LPMI)
The LPMI program, in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church, equips Catholics with the knowledge and skills to carry out ministry competently, collaboratively, and professionally. Through an integrated process of education and ongoing faith formation, we provide an opportunity for Catholics across the Diocese to grow spiritually, intellectually, and pastorally. The 2022-2023 “Year of Discernment” classes will begin on Saturday, September 10th. For more information: visit www.dosp.org/lpmi; email; or call 727-344-1611.

Office of Marriage and Family Life
Marriage Jubilee Mass
The Marriage Jubilee Mass of Thanksgiving will take place on Sunday, August 21, 2022, 3:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle, St. Petersburg. This event honors couples throughout the Diocese who celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2021 or 2022, as well as those celebrating 50 or more years of marriage.  Those who wish to attend are asked to contact their parish office by Monday, August 8th. If you have questions, please contact Debbie Alexander at (727) 241-6847 or deb@dosp.org.
For the Faithful Departed
Let us keep the souls and the families of the faithful departed in our prayers:

  • Mrs. Rebecca Pound, former Adult Faith Formation Director at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Inverness

  • Mr. Joseph Grimaudo, father of Ms. Annette Tremante, Director of Faith Formation at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Inverness

May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed
by the mercy of God, rest in peace!
