• Every 1st & 3rd Wednesday the youth will begin an interactive teaching series called "I Got The Power!" This series will help them to learn more about prayer and worship.

• Every 2nd & 4th Wednesday will be Arts & Drama which includes: spoken word, art, acting, mime, poetry, music, drawing, singing, dance, communication, etc. Through the arts the goal is to develop and build their confidence and freedom of expression to BE who God has created the to BE!!

 As Believers we always have hope in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  However, during holiday seasons we often see an increase in suicide in our communities.  

According to the 2014 statistics suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States with an average of 117 suicides per day. Florida ranks #24 in the nation in suicide deaths.

Later life suicide is a major health concern. Elders may find it difficult to manage depression, death of loved ones, physical illness/pain, the inability to function in daily life, fear of becoming a burden and social disconnection which are identified as  significant risk factors in late life suicide.

90% of those individuals who die by suicide had a diagnose psychiatric disorder at the time of their death.

Veterans comprise 22.2 % of all suicides.

 

Look for the Following Warning Signs:

•  Prolonged depression, sadness or uncontrolled crying
•  Lack of interest in previously enjoyed activities
•  Lack of interest in personal appearance
•  Withdrawal from friends
•  Lack of energy or ambition
•  Sleeping or eating habits have changed
•  Increased use of drugs or alcohol
•  Restlessness or hyperactivity
•  Hopelessness and helplessness
•  Discovery of previous suicide attempts
•  A recent trauma or loss
