We could not have asked for better weather last weekend. There is one more weekend before the holiday, so take advantage and get ready this weekend. We are close to opening the Commodore's Lounge. It looks like we will be ready for Memorial; it's going to come down to the furniture coming in on time.
We are planning on a horse race party this weekend at Hookers. They are lots of fun, and we will be serving oysters on the half. Be sure to check out the Cabana, it was jumping this past weekend. The pool is open, and the water is as clear as gin.
Get ready to dig deep for the Fourth—the largest public-funded fireworks show I've ever heard of, certainly in this part of the country! We are going big this year with Big Bang Joe ordering up some big shells and great times. We appreciate all donations, large and small. The goal this year is $160,000.
Something new this weekend is the Grand Buffet on Friday and Saturday nights on the second floor. This is for those who want a quick dinner or may have some tired hangry kids from being out on the lake. Now along with Hookers, Cabana, and Main Dining, we should have you covered.
Remember to keep a good lookout when boating and stay safe. Hope to see you soon.

Hello Grand Lakers,
This weekend is the 2nd leg of the Triple Crown Horse Races, with the 149th running of the Preakness Stakes. We will be serving raw and grilled oysters on Hooker's Bar Patio on Saturday starting at 3 pm throughout the race or while they last. So dress up in your favorite horse racing attire and come out to Hooker's to cheer Mystic Dan onto victory.
Our Cobalt Ballroom Buffet will open this weekend, starting at 5 pm on Friday. We will be open for service until 10 pm, it will be open Friday and Saturday night for your enjoyment. The buffet will consist of a salad bar along with several entrees that include a lot of favorites like AYC Fried Catfish, Herb Roasted Chicken, Grilled Pork Chops, and more. It will also have several side options along with assorted cakes, cookies, and brownies for $30 ++.
Craft Cocktail of the Week: Mango Mexican Mule, fresh mango puree mixed with Bozal Mezcal, fresh lime, and ginger beer for a playful twist on the classic cocktail.
VIP Pizza Specialty Pizza of the Week: Nashville Hot Chicken. Our famed pizza crust is topped with mozzarella cheese, fried chicken, BBQ sauce, pickle, onion, and Nashville hot sauce.

Please be patient if you have experienced technical difficulties regarding our website. We had a system integration that kicked off all the photos of boats that are listed, new and used. We are working tirelessly to correct it ASAP. If there is a boat on the website that is missing photos and you would like to see it, please call or text my cell at 918-798-9418, and I’ll be happy to send you photos from our main folder.
It’s been a busy season so far, and the holiday boating season hasn’t even started yet! I’m sure everyone caught a glimpse of the northern lights. Here is a shot over Cherokee Yacht Club after enjoying the Friday Night Prime Rib special! Yum!

Regal has started its full-throttle sales event with savings from 7500.00 to 75000.00. This is the first time for this event. Drop by Cedar Port for details. Cedar Port is the home of Regal Boats on Grand Lake. It’s nice working for a family-owned faith-based company and selling boats for a faith-based company. These are pictures of the Regal family in a big prayer circle.
Do you need the value of your boat? Give me a call. I have been selling boats on Grand Lake for 21 years. Call me on my cell at 918-691-8823. That’s a handy number to have.

Memorial day weekend is fast approaching.
As you all know, Memorial Day is in just a few weeks; so get your boat ready and stocked up so you can enjoy the holiday. Check all the fluids, battery voltage, fuses and lights to make sure it goes smoothly. Fill the boat with fuel and have it ready to go when you get here.
Please don’t wait until the last minute to come to your boat. With the work load on the service department, if you have an issue we may not be able to get you going if you wait. We try to accommodate everyone, but it is not always possible to do so.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone. And we hope everybody enjoys a fun boating filled weekend and stays safe.
Thank you for using Arrowhead Service Department.

It’s the most beautiful time of year on Beaver Lake. Those of us brave enough to take the plunge will be greeted with almost-bearable surface temperatures above 70 degrees! New boats are being delivered to happy customers and on the better weather days the area is very enjoyable. Service has ramped up to summerize boats, the sales team is on the water and in the store showing off our incredible inventory, and I’m nearly sold out of our most popular surf boards in the pro shop. I am now here in the pro shop Tuesday-Saturday, 8-5. Look for the new tubes and floaties on outdoor display on your way to the lake!

🏀OKLAHOMA CITY/DALLAS
Miraculously, OKC pulled even with Dallas, winning Monday night to even the series at 2-2. Just how OKC managed to win that game, I have no idea. The Thunder trailed most of the game by 10 points or more, then pulled it out at the end. A crucial turn was Dallas missing a free throw on the front of a two-shot foul, resulting in Dallas having to foul to try and get back possession. The Thunder hit their free throws, and that was the end of the story.
The Thunder lost game 5 104-92 and the series will continue Saturday with game 6 at 7 pm.
🥎COLLEGE SOFTBALL
Both OU and OSU are in the College Softball playoffs. Play begins on Friday.
🏁NASCAR
Darlington winner Brad Keselowski. Christopher Bell, our Oklahoman, came in 13th. This week's race is in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
🏌️PGA
Rory McIlroy is the winner, 17 under par! How does that make you feel? This week's tournament is at Valhalla Louisville, Kentucky.
🏇THE 149TH PREAKNESS STAKES SATURDAY, MAY 18
There are fewer horses. Only 9 at this time. Mystic Dan will be making a bid to make the Belmont a Triple Crown race. We will see. Anything can happen in horse racing! It will be a lot easier to bet on the winning horse this time. 9 choices versus 19 in the Derby. Same format as the Derby. Oyster Roast, starting at 3 pm. Post time 5:50 pm. Be there to watch it live, history is in the making!

By the way, the NEW Mexican Monday ala carte menu and the NEW Cajun menu on Wednesday nights are just outstanding. You must try both out. We opened up a lot of venues last week:
Cabana & Pool, Mexican Monday, Cajun Wednesday, Sharky's, and VIP are all running now. Friday & Saturday night buffet in the Cobalt Ballroom will start this weekend. The lake water temp is now over 70, and the pool is about 5 degrees warmer. Alligators can be rented at the mother's discretion. We now have a six-day-a-week operation, with only the NEW Commodore's Lounge left to open on Memorial Day weekend. And it is still on track to be completed. Service will now be open 6 days a week! This is what we have been waiting and living for. The 84th Summer season of Grand Lake!
It's the weekend before Memorial Weekend. This is the weekend to get to the lake ck out the lake home. Fuel up the boat and TAKE IT OUT FOR A SPIN! If the boat has one hiccup, we can have you in a NEW boat by Memorial Weekend! Get ready, the 84th Memorial Weekend of Grand Lake is about to start in one week. The green flag will be down all the way to Labor Day. How great it is.

Fourth Of July isn't far off. Remember, the sooner you get your donation of $100 or more, the sooner you will get your name in the paper. Donations of $750 dollars or more will get you two seats at the Spark Plug Dinner on June 21st. The Duck Creek Fireworks is on Thursday night, July 4th; The Greatest Fireworks Show in all of Oklahoma and the four states. It's YOU that makes it happen. We are dedicating this year's show to Toby Keith and donating 10% of our total donations to Tunnel 2 Towers. It is a worthy foundation that does so much for our wounded first responders and veterans. 88% of funds donated are distributed. The administration is only 12% of their budget. Their ads always bring tears to my eyes; we are so proud to help fund them. The sacrifice that many have given just overwhelms me. These wounded veterans and first responders have given so much to us for our freedom! STAND UP AND SUPPORT THEM! "All gave some, some gave ALL!" Let's never forget what we are celebrating and for what! Click the video below!
|
The air show this year is on July 4th and features new planes and a twist we will announce next week.
The SUN is rising over Duck Creek. No cars, no traffic, and the ONLY thing we overlook is the LAKE! And it is Grand, Beaver, Grove, and Oklahoma City.

The Coves Golf Club celebrated the completion of the Clubhouse expansion project last Saturday with a ribbon cutting at the Clubhouse. The expansion project, which was initiated in 2021, was the result of a vision by The Coves Golf Club Capital Improvement Committee. In 2022, the project’s Construction Committee took the lead in the oversight of the construction. The dedication of many volunteers who donated money, time, and energy resulted in a beautiful Golf Clubhouse that provides an atmosphere of community for both golfers and non-golfers to enjoy.
The newly expanded pro shop is fully stocked with the best brands in golf attire and top-notch golf gear. The new bar and grill area provides a place to relax with food and a favorite beverage. In addition to the indoor area, the patio was expanded to provide more space to enjoy the breathtaking views of the 18th green.
The Coves Golf Club, located next door to CYC in the Coves Community, is an 18-hole championship golf course. In addition to the golf course, there is an excellent practice facility which includes 3 tee areas and 2 large practice greens, one for chipping and sand play and one for improving putting skills.
For more information about the different types of membership, hours of operation, and upcoming Coves Golf Club events, visit www.thecovesgolfclub.com or call Mark Hill, Pro Shop Manager, at (918) 782-3220.

MAX BERNAL
Max Bernal grew up back and forth between the family ranch in Golondrinas, New Mexico, and Southeast Kansas. Max has worked for Arrowhead Service Department for nine years and is currently working in the parts and warranty division. Max states that the one thing that inspired him to pursue his current position is the desire to work and live at the lake. He elaborates that it's pretty hard to beat those views and office vibes when you love being around the water. He also adds that he most enjoys getting lucky enough to work with the other awesome staff of the Arrowhead Service Department, and with the customers. Max says that one thing that makes an impact on his current role is supply chain challenges when trying to get parts in a timely manner so customers can get back on the water.
Max reflects on his years of service and states that one of the most important lessons he has learned in his career is to always keep an eye out on the weather, and always take the time to do a job right the first time. He explains that having to re-work anything can cost the customer time away from being able to enjoy their boat. Max shares that a good piece of advice he would pass on to a new co-worker is to be ready for anything as the landscape in this industry is constantly changing and growing with more and more technicians being assigned to boats each year.
Members of Max's family are his father, Maximinio Bernal, Sr., who is 80 years young and lives in Switzerland; Sister, Elena Bernal, who lives in Kansas; his 26 y/o daughter, Cassandra, who lives in Kansas; his 32 y/o son, Brandon, who lives in Georgia; and his youngest son, Beau, who is 7 y/o and lives with Max on Grand Lake with their family dog, Rojo. Max and Beau love to spend their free time fishing, camping, boating, and swimming on Grand Lake. Max also has a passion for drag racing and is currently working on getting his car back on the raceway at Mo-Kan. Max states that he has worked and known co-worker, Jeff Olive, for a very long time and that they both are fellow musicians with a passion for the arts industry. Max said, "You know, Jeff is a really cool guy and he's actually my hero".
Thank you, Max Bernal, for your nine years of steadfast dedication and perseverance with the Arrowhead Service Department.
