Executives Pass the Torch

This week began with a warm welcome to Flo Barbee-Watkins as she assumes the position of lead presbyter for vision and collaboration. It concludes with fond farewells to Fred Holbrook, retiring as interim general presbyter and stated clerk. Flo and Fred have spent valuable time together exchanging knowledge to create a smooth transition. Prayers to both as they settle into their new roles in the coming weeks.

On Wednesday, presbytery moderators and staff met with Flo to share information about their ministry. Kenna Payne, moderator of POJ's Mission Council, recognized Fred at our June 14 presbytery meeting, the last one at which Fred served as interim general presbyter, stated clerk, parliamentarian, head of staff, secretary treasurer of the Presbytery of the James corporation.
