JAINA Financial Council Update

The Federation of Jain Associations in North America (JAINA) is pleased to announce the successful completion of its financial audit for the years 2019 to 2023. This milestone underscores JAINA's ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and financial integrity.

The audit process was a comprehensive review of JAINA's financial practices, ensuring that all operations adhere to the highest standards of fiscal responsibility. The completion of this audit marks a significant achievement for JAINA, as it continues to serve the Jain community across North America with dedication and trustworthiness.

A key contributor to the successful completion of this audit was Biren Shah (from Northern California) along with JAINA Treasurer Ketu Sheth, the Financial Council Chair from Northern California. Biren Shah and JAINA treasurer Ketu Sheth’s leadership, meticulous oversight, and unwavering dedication were instrumental in navigating the complexities of the audit process. Biren's expertise and commitment to the financial health of JAINA have been invaluable, ensuring that our organization remains financially strong and well-positioned to fulfill its mission.

JAINA extends its heartfelt appreciation to all members of the Financial Council and the broader community for their ongoing support and contributions. The completion of this audit not only reflects our commitment to financial stewardship but also reinforces our ability to serve the Jain community effectively.

Jain Center Updates

Support Needed for the New Jain Center and Jinalay in Oregon and SW Washington

The Jain Samaj of Oregon and SW Washington is currently seeking support for the construction of their new Jinalay and Jain Center property. While they have successfully raised 60% of the required capital through contributions from local Portland area members, they now need additional assistance to secure the remaining funds through interest-free, long-term loans.

Your support will play a vital role in bringing this important project to life for our Jain community in North America.

If you are interested in supporting the establishment of this new Jinalay and Jain Center within the Oregon and SW Washington area, please reach out to Chirag Shah, the JSOSW Fundraising Committee Leader, at chirag_sh@hotmail.com

JCGS Summer Shibir and Picnic: A Journey of Learning, Celebration, and Spiritual Reflection

The Jain Center of Greater Sacramento (JCGS) conducted a very informative, fun, and engaging 3-day Shibir for kids and adults with 50 active participants. Shibir course was very well designed and included lectures, engaging games and hands-on activities on topics like Kalchakra, 5 Kalyanaks of Bhagwan, 34 Atishay of Tirthankars, yoga, pranayama and meditation. Kids made amazing crafts to display Kalchakra and Samavasaran. All the participants followed white, red and yellow dress code to symbolize -Arihant, Siddha and Acharaya (the first three Navpad) for 3 days. Satavik lunch and snacks were served all 3 days. The participants were encouraged with gifts.

JCGS hosted and celebrated their annual summer picnic at a local park. Volunteers, both kids and adults, hosted and enjoyed various carnival games. JCGS also hosted Pathshala kids graduation ceremony and felicitated graduating kids with rewards.

JCGS was very fortunate to host Shri Samanji Shrut Pragyaji who conducted a beautiful lecture on “Destination addiction” and Jain Dharma. Samanji elaborated how we all are looking for happiness elsewhere in today’s world of instant gratification and social media instead of being content and grateful with the present. The event ended with satavik lunch served to the Sangh prepared by volunteers.
