The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, in partnership with WLJA - 101.1 FM | Enjoy Cherokee Magazine, is recognizing retiring educators from the Cherokee County School District by donating funds to the Sequoyah Regional Library System. The funds will be used to purchase books for the library branches located in Cherokee County. The books will include a label recognizing all faculty, staff and administrators who retired during the 2023-2024 school year. Each retiree will receive notification that a book is being donated in their honor.

“This is the fifteenth year the Chamber has acknowledged retiring educators for their valuable contribution to the lives of students in Cherokee County. The Chamber is pleased to partner with WLJA - 101.1 FM | Enjoy Cherokee Magazine in this tribute to Cherokee County’s educators,” shared Chamber President & CEO Pam Carnes.

Teasley MS Gives Thanks to Rotary Club of Canton

Teasley Middle School can not give enough praise to the Rotary Club of Canton for their sponsorship of the Interact Club. The Interact Club at Teasley has over 50 student members, making it one of the largest clubs in the school! Members of the Interact Club focus on service projects that give back to their community. The school is especially grateful to Rotary members for the donation of their resources and time to the school, both of which are instrumental in helping establish this club at Teasley.

Allegro Business Products recently visited Free Home ES and Teasley MS to give their support to students and staff, both in and out of the classroom! From speaking at Career Day, to being a guest reader in the classrooms, and donating Academic Bowl shirts, Lori Flink, owner of Allegro Business Products, exemplifies how businesses can support the students of Cherokee County as a Partner in Education. Not all support has to be financial. Sometimes simply donating your time can make the greatest impact of all!
