From the Principal

I am excited to announce that Miss Tina Van Wetering is bringing a comprehensive after-school STEM enrichment program through Snapology to St. Francis. There will be sessions in the Fall, Winter and Spring and at least one session open to every grade from K-8. The cost to participate is reduced to families thanks to a subsidy from our Spirit Day fundraising! Look for more information including a full program description soon!

Catholic Virtue of the Week : This week our featured virtue was Loyalty.  Next week, the virtue of the week is Stewardship.

Missed Curriculum Night?  Please click here for the scanned copy of the handout. This handout includes a lot of information about just how GREAT our academic achievement outcomes are at St. Francis de Sales School.

Our Norms: commUNITY, Innovation, Growth, Respect, and Service.

Our Vision of a GraduateVision of a Graduate

Our vision of a graduate serves as a destination. The curriculum is the route we take to make sure our graduates reach the destination! We are currently engaged in documenting and refining our existing curriculum with the dual goals of making sure our curriculum leads towards our Vision of a Graduate and that our curriculum is aligned vertically (spiraling with increasing complexity and mastery of concepts as students progress through grades and courses) and externally (so our students do well on the ACT/Aspire, the High School Placement Test (HSPT), and other tests) in order to maximize the opportunities available to them in high school. This exciting work is ongoing!

Strategic Planning Update: Nick Leroy of Bright Minds presented the qualitative and quantitative findings of the survey to members of the School Board and representatives from the Parish Pastoral Council this Wednesday. All responses were included and all qualitative responses were read. Some of the high level recurring themes and focus areas identified in the survey results include the lunch program, increasing total enrollment, and expanding extra curricular offerings.
