Dear Parish Pro-Life Coordinator:

I hope this finds you and your families doing well. We had an amazing online turnout (1000+) at our Virtual Summer Rosary. The best news: as we introduced the rosary from outside of Southwestern abortion facility, a mom chose life! Prayer is Powerful!

We will share more pro-life updates this weekend at the VIRTUAL Parish Pro-Life Coordinators Meeting on Saturday, August 8. We will hold one session in Spanish at 9:00 a.m. and a second session in English at 10:30 a.m.  You can access the meeting using this link. (Meeting ID: 972 267 5433 and Passcode: prolife)

Looking ahead to the fall, we have another prayer opportunity:

And, one last thing... WATCH YOUR MAIL
Respect Life Month packets are on their way to you. There's one for each parish. They should be arriving this month and will contain great ideas and tools for your parish. Please take this opportunity to set an appointment with your pastor to discuss how this kit can help your parish celebrate the gift of LIFE!

THE DEVOTION OF ST. MONICA
This month we mark the Feast of St. Monica whose life was plagued with family tensions and criticism. Monica's prayers and charity finally won her husband and mother-in-law to Christianity. The oldest and most famous of Monica's children, Augustine, was a rhetoric student living an immoral life.  His mother was deeply distressed to learn he had embraced the Manichean heresy-"all flesh is evil."  She fervently prayed and fasted for him until his conversion.

On Easter 387, then Bishop (now Saint) Ambrose baptized Augustine. Nearing the end of her life, Monica told Augustine, "Son, nothing in this world now affords me delight. I do not know what there is now left for me to do or why I am still here, all my hopes in this world being now fulfilled." She became ill shortly after and went home to our Lord. Almost all we know about St. Monica is in the writings of her son, Saint Augustine.

Like St. Monica, let us remember that a commitment to prayer is our best recourse in the face of challenging, seemingly insurmountable, circumstances.

Excited to virtually see you all on Aug. 8!
