Experimental Course is Building an App for BIPOC Mental Health


Olin students and faculty are working together with Inspired Relief on a technological solution to support wellbeing with a focus on mental health for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) communities in the city of Boston.

Oliners Featured in the Boston Globe for Making Mobile Apps more ccessible


The Boston Globe has published an article about the #HackDisability: AI for Accessibility hackathon held last month at MIT. In it, they feature two Olin students who were on one of the winning teams and awarded $2,500 for their mobile app accessibility project. (There were five Oliners total on two winning teams!)

Products & Markets Sustainable Fashion Entrepreneurship Activity


In February students in this spring’s Products & Markets (P&M) class were surprised with a sustainable fashion entrepreneurship activity in the MAC studios. With Olin faculty focusing the entire P&M course this year on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, students were tasked with designing and pitching a value proposition for the world of sustainable fashion.

Olin College has been recognized by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs for being one of the colleges and universities with the highest number of students and scholars selected for the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program.

Principles of Integrated Engineering | Pi Day


Last week in honor of Pi Day (3.14) we highlighted the hallmark Olin course, Principles of Integrated Engineering (PIE), previously known as POE—Principles of Engineering.



While enrolled in this course, second-year students conceive, design, and implement a mechatronic system that includes mechanical design, electronics, and software—all with the real world constraints of materials, process, and budget. In keeping with the theme, students also enjoy delicious pie during their demo day events!
