Need to Know
First Quarter Grades
First quarter grades have been emailed to parents and students using the email address on file with the school.

The email subject will be First Quarter Grades. If you do not see this email in your inbox, please check your SPAM folder before contacting Valley. If you do not have a current email on file, you may need to reach out to us.

If you do not receive an email, please contact School Counselor Mrs. Lindsay Mueller for assistance.
Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences
Parent-Teacher-Student conferences are available on Wednesday, November 11th in the evening by appointment only. Families wishing to set up a conference should contact Mrs. Lindsay Mueller at lmueller@vlhs.com or by calling the school office by Monday, November 9th by 4pm.
  • Parents and their student will have the opportunity to meet with all of their student's teachers together in a socially distanced setting. We absolutely encourage students to attend.
  • All participants are asked to wear a mask while in the building, per local Health Department mandates. Furniture will be sanitized in between each conference by school staff.
  • If an in-person conference is not appropriate for medical reasons, but you would still like to arrange a conference, please contact Mrs. Mueller to make other arrangements.
Calendar Change
NO SCHOOL on November 13, 2020! Students will not report to school. Students will not have online coursework for the day either.

All teachers will have a work day and report to school for the entire day. There will be work for teachers to do that day, so they will not be available to provide lessons to students or provide learning support for online instruction.
Weather Related School Closures
In the event of a school closure for weather related emergencies, notifications will go out in the following ways and order:
  1. Remind text message to all parents and students
  2. VLHS webpage notification
  3. Notification of all news/media outlets
  4. Constant Contact email

These notifications will also indicate whether or not the day will be an e-Learning Day. On e-Learning days, students will need to check Google Classroom for instructions on each of their courses.

Please be sure that you have signed up for a Remind text message. Please see instructions below:

To sign up for email alerts, go to rmd.at/your code and follow the instructions.

Note from the Executive Director
Dear Parents,

We have recently had a number of students quarantined due to being in close contact with a Covid-19 positive person. I want to be clear that NONE of these contacts have happened at school. All of them have occurred outside of school. We have now had just three positive Covid-19 cases in our student body. Please remain vigilant with outside of school activities and contacts as this can directly impact school attendance for students. Our existing protocols have been working quite well, and I continue to pray that students and families remain healthy through this pandemic.

In Christ,

Julian Petzold, Ph.D.
Executive Director
