HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Welcome to the November Issue of Key Insights Newsletter.

My father, Federico Padovan, moved our family (including grandparents) here in 1973. I was raised  on the Island, before briefly leaving to earn a BFA degree at NYU. But my heart never left Key Biscayne. So I returned to my Island Paradise home where I am raising 4th generation Key Biscayners with my husband Donnie Hall.

As a life-long resident and Realtor on Key Biscayne, I love sharing upcoming events and Interesting activities offered around our community for the residents and frequent visitors of our Island  Paradise and beyond.

This issue is chock-full of many great events happening in November, including all the information to VOTE in the 2016 election!

We also have three very lovely contributors adding their Insights as well!

FEELING OVERWHELMED???

As I started to tell Paola that I may not be able to write for her newsletter this week, I realized that I need to follow my own suggestions of "how to avoid getting overwhelmed." We all have very "full plates,"  especially this season as Fall is in full swing and holidays are just around the corner.  Let's appreciate the fact that our plates are "full."  That is called "living!"  We have family/friend commitments, work commitments, volunteer commitments, and hopefully also just have some fun.  Without these commitments (and fun), our lives could feel empty. So here are a few tips to handle the "full plate."
1) Balance - We cannot be all work and no play. Be sure to add some leisure into your week.
2) Prioritize - Have a list and write all the "need to do" in order of importance and add "nice to do" at the end.
3) Exercise - We will have more energy to accomplish what is on our lists.
4) Gratitude - Just stop and be grateful for the present moment. Meditate, pray, or use focused breathing to help you stay present.
5) Just say "NO" - We are only human. Try not to over commitment by saying "yes" to everything that is asked of you.

The Ripple Effects of Kindness

We've all heard how important it is to be kind to one another since early childhood.  However, benevolence toward others is more than just the right thing to do. Kindness is downright healing and uplifting to both the receiver and the giver. Examples include paying the toll for the person behind you, taking out the trash for an elder neighbor or volunteering your time to people in need.
Random acts of kindness open the floodgates for miracles to occur and is a mirror of unconditional love at its best to our fellow mankind and a reflection of the divine love that resides in all of us. As a result, people let their guard down and we are reminded that we are one single humanity. Benevolent gestures to one person can have a wide variety of results that are beneficial to communities and the planet. We become more inclined to help others in need and reveal a better version of ourselves as a result. Perhaps someone who is having a real tough time is brought a step closer to their resolution. Compassion toward others sets the stage for even more goodness to occur and spreads like an electric current. We can't help but return the favor to someone else. Ultimately, everyone benefits from the ripple effect of even one thoughtful gesture.
Kindheartedness reveals all the good that really does exists in the world and the recipients will feel more empowered to do the same for others. The ripple effect on a global level reminds us that despite life's trials and tribulations, there is more good than evil in the world. When people are motivated to let their guard down, their inner compassion emerges. We've come to this world to make it better, create miracles together and make the best of our given circumstances. Pay it forward this holiday season and initiate your ripple effect of kindness now and all year round. It'll be one more blessing we can all count on this Thanksgiving.

HOW TO INCORPORATE MEDITATION @ WORK

The struggles of balancing life and work, creating harmony in between and driving an increase in revenue may seem impossible. While growing a business and managing life components, our ability to reflect, find clarity and remain balanced can feel hopeless. But it's during the moments of solitude, reflection and gratitude, when we find the flow of it all. Meditation and incorporating it throughout the day may hold the peace you've been searching for all this time.
I created this simple worksheet "HOW TO INCORPORATE MEDITATION AT WORK" to help FEMS start to recognize the benefits of pausing through the day, finding a time to be with "one" and start to incorporate moments of meditation. I hope this helps you get started in living life harmoniously while growing business exponentially.
