Welcome to the 23-24 school year! We hope that you will keep this edition of the Panther Press to reference throughout the year.




Student drop-off & pick-up in parent loop

  • Students can only exit or enter cars in the right lane near the sidewalk.
  • Left lane is for passing only. Please use your turn signal if changing lanes.
  • PLEASE pull all the way forward in the parent loop.
  • When the two lanes merge, please merge using a you go, I go.
  • Please refrain from being on your cell phone while driving through the parent loop.


Student access to campus

  • Students are allowed onto campus at 8:45am. If dropped off earlier, students must wait outside the gates.
  • Parents who wait until 8:45am, please park in the visitor lot, so cars dropping off and leaving can use the loop.
  • If students make an appointment with a teacher for before school, the student must wait at the gate until the teacher picks them up and then they must stay with the teacher until 8:45am.
  • Students participating in a morning practice, such as athletics or ROTC, must also wait at the gate for the coach or instructor and stay with them until 8:45am.

ALL visitors on campus must be cleared. This includes attending a morning meeting with teachers, volunteering, attending ROTC promotion ceremony, athletic signing day, etc. https://www.stjohns.k12.fl.us/volunteer/



Buses

  • Students MUST know their bus number to use our system for locating their bus in the loop. Bus numbers can be found in HAC.
  • Students are to report straight to their bus and not stop to socialize with friends. Once we announce last call, bus loop gates are closed and students can't enter bus loop.
  • If student misses their bus, they must call a parent to pick them up.
  • Student referrals from bus driver for behavior will result in student being suspended from the bus.
  • The district does not allow students to ride home with other students.



Cafeteria - lunch accounts

  • Parents can create an account through paypams or send check or cash for child's account. If sending a check, please include child's name & student number on the memo line.
  • Students MUST use their ID to purchase lunch to avoid children using someone else's PIN.

Attendance Procedures for Excused Absences

  • You may submit the information using the link below to report an excused absence or your child may turn in a note to the main office. The link must be completed or note submitted within 48 hours after the absence.
  • Completing the absence form does not guarantee an excused absence. The reason must be an acceptable excused reason by the district.

Early Check-out Procedures

  • Parent/guardian or emergency contact can physically check-out student through the main office.
  • No check-out after 3pm or 2pm on Wednesdays.
  • For your early check-out convenience, you can complete the request using the link below no later than 10am every day. We will send your child an early check-out form and they will be released from class at check-out time. Even students who drive & need to leave early MUST complete the early check-out form by 10am.

  • If request is not submitted by 10am, we will NOT accept phone calls or emails to release. A parent/guardian or emergency contact must check-out through the main office.
  • Requests for early dismissals can be entered prior to the check-out day.


Pre-approved Absence Form


ALL absences after 15 days requires a medical note or statement from appearance in court to be excused.

  • Students need a clinic pass to see the nurse.

  • Students who are sent home with a fever must be fever-free for 24hours before returning.
