The Nease Jazz Band and Jazz Ensemble will be performing a preview of their MPA programs this coming Tuesday, January 30th in the Nease High School Performing Arts Center.

The Nease Jazz Band will perform at 6:30pm, the Nease Jazz Ensemble will perform at 7:00pm. Come out to hear them swingin’!

Superintendent Forson will hold a parent meeting on Wednesday, Feb 7th at 4:30pm in Nease’s auditorium to hear characteristics that parents would like to see in the next leader for Nease HS. We hope that you can attend to provide input.

THANK YOU to parents who attended our informational meeting last Tuesday to learn more about the

Please take time to view documents we have posted online as counselors will start meeting with students over the next 3 weeks through their English class. Seniors, if you need initial or midyear transcripts sent, you will need to turn in your gold envelope to your school counselor. If you never stopped in to CPOD to pick up your gold envelope after you submitted your gold envelope to your counselor, you need to come by CPOD and pick it up. You will need to use this process to get your midyear transcripts sent. The only time you do not need your gold envelope, is when you need final transcripts sent to the college/university you will be attending after high school graduation.

Student Life

Current 10th & 11th graders it is time to apply for a 24-25 parking tag. PLEASE ensure that you read the 24-25 Parking Rules & Regulations BEFORE completing an application. PLEASE ensure you complete the correct application as I do not verify grade levels and move students from one list to another. 24-25 Seniors are given priority, so if a current junior completes the sophomore link you will not be receiving a parking tag, so pay attention.

Timeline:

Parking applications will be open through 11:59pm on Thursday, February 29th. If you don't have a car but there is a possibility that you might have a car for next year, PLEASE complete the application. I only hold a few parking tags for new seniors, so if all tags are sold you will be out of luck if you email next fall asking for a tag because you now have a car. The application states that you must have your license by Oct 11th. If you will have your license AFTER Oct 11th and know you will have access to a car, please apply so you are automatically placed on the wait list instead of sending an email when you obtain your license.

CURRENT Juniors (24-25 Seniors) will be notified via the Panther Press if they are receiving a tag. Basically, everyone who applies will receive a tag unless there are discipline concerns. Current Juniors (24-25 Seniors) will have until 11:59pm on Tuesday, April 30th to pay the $125 parking tag fee online. After the deadline, I will determine how many additional tags can be sold and hope to award current sophomores (24-25 Juniors) parking tags before school is out or very early June.

24-25 Parking Rules & Regulations - You MUST read before you complete an application.

Boys Soccer Holiday Cup Update

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. I wanted to take a few moments to thank you for making the 2023 Holiday Cup a success. Your kindness and generosity was amazing to witness. I couldn't be happier with the commitment from Nease, Creekside, Mandarin and Bishop Kenny Soccer programs. Players, coaches, parents and administrators worked together for the betterment of the community to support many local families, and players learned the positive impact they can have on others off the field.

A handful of Nease Soccer players delivered collected items to Ronald McDonald House, and to Valley Ridge Academy for their 'Soaring High' community outreach program. In total, our four Soccer Programs were able to raise $2,500 cash, $300 gift cards, 36 stuffed animals, 7 bedding sets, 55 blankets and 75 toys.

Special thanks to coaches Cameron Crandall, Jason Cooley and Matt Case. They have been excited and supportive promoting this endeavor, and I'd like them to know that I appreciate their help as much as I appreciate their friendship. A huge thanks to ALL the Parents that coordinated the item collections, concessions and countless other communications and details that don't get enough recognition. As well, to the Players for buying in and supporting these causes. Another shout-out to Mauricio Ruiz, Cole Pepper and Tony Allegretti for their support through our USL Championship team, Sporting Club Jax.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z29nqLgCPcM

As always, thank you to Will Brown for covering this event. His ongoing support over the airwaves and in print has continued to push community involvement. https://jaxtoday.org/2023/12/28/soccer-programs-kick-off-season-of-giving-in-holiday-cup/

Thank you all for your thoughtfulness and generosity. I wish you and your family all the happiness the New Year can bring. Good luck with District Tournaments and beyond, and have a great finish to your high school season.

·        Tea bags (for our tea drinkers 😊 )

·        Creamer (individual packs or powdered. No refrigerated creamers please)
