Seniors, if you need initial or midyear transcripts sent, you will need to turn in your gold envelope to your school counselor. If you never stopped in to CPOD to pick up your gold envelope after you submitted your gold envelope to your counselor, you need to come by CPOD and pick it up. You will need to use this process to get your midyear transcripts sent. The only time you do not need your gold envelope, is when you need final transcripts sent to the college/university you will be attending after high school graduation.
The presentation from our Financial Aid Night can be accessed using the following link:

ACE Mentor Competition Program Kicks Off In Senior Engineering Classes
This year, our senior-level engineering classes are taking part in the ACE Mentor Competition Program, in which our students work on specialized projects, released to schools across our area, to compete in hopes to be named the best RFP (request for proposal), among area schools. During the creation of these projects, professionals from various disciplines in the engineering industry, or related to the industry, will come in to speak with the students and share insight as to how to best align their proposals to industry standards. Our first guest speaker was Director of Civil Engineering for Stellar, Tim Focht. Mr. Focht shared information on a few of the civil engineering projects tackled by Stellar, delivered insight into the multi-faceted world that a civil engineer has to consider when working on a project, and offered advice on areas of consideration/concern regarding the three different ACE projects. We thank Mr. Focht for taking the time to work with our students, and are looking forward to the future guest speakers from the industry we will be welcoming in coming weeks.

Smoothie King Franchise Owner Shares His Story with Hospitality Students
Kris Risch, owner of multiple Smoothie King franchises in our area, met with Hospitality Academy students before winter break to share his story. A self-described hard worker and goal-setter, Mr. Risch shared how he was introduced to Smoothie King in Gainesville, and started his business ownership journey simply by getting a part time job and working his hardest, doing any and every task that needed completion. By the time he was 21, after rising to management level at a store owned by other franchisees, Mr. Risch was able to open his own store. He set goals to open multiple shops in a very short time span, and told the students that he worked open-to-close at his first location for weeks, every day, as he got the business going. He discussed the impacts that 9/11, the economic crash in 2008, and COVID had on his business, and how building resilience is so important to finding success. We truly appreciate Mr. Risch coming in to share his story, and the students were thrilled that he also came with smoothies for everyone!
