Some of you may be preparing for your first round of interviews, and many of you will be moving onto second and third rounds. Congratulations on your success thus far!  Regardless of where you may be in the interview process, it is important that students remember you are representing not only yourself, but also Pamplin and Virginia Tech. Below are some important reminders on interview etiquette for students:

-If a student has scheduled any type of interview (on campus, on site, phone, or skype), it is imperative that he or she make every effort to attend that interview as planned.  If an interview must be cancelled or rescheduled, a minimum of a 2 day notice should be provided to the company recruiter.  No shows or last minute cancellations reflect poorly on a student as well as Pamplin and Virginia Tech.

-Students should get in the habit of following up with company recruiters and interviewers after each round of an interview to express gratitude as well as interest.  This is important, as sometimes it can be the deciding factor on which candidates are selected to move forward.

-Accepting a full-time offer with a company and continuing to interview with other companies with the motive of obtaining a "better" job is unacceptable professional etiquette. Once a commitment is made, it should be honored. If a student is not willing to commit at the company deadline, the offer should be declined.
