Open water events are on the horizon, so it's time to set some goals! Swimswam recently shared 8 Goal Setting Tips For Swimmers which are geared toward pool events but can easily be adapted for open water. So, write them down, get to work, and crush those goals.

Are You a Relay-Only Swimmer?

If your answer is "YES!" to that question, we have good news for you!

What is a relay-only swimmer? At our Championship meets and some of our non-Championship meets we offer to let relay-only swimmers enter at no cost. Those swimmers may participate in relays at that meet.

In the past, relay-only swimmers had to enter AFTER the close of individual entries. Our friends at Club Assistant have updated their software so that relay-only swimmers can enter during the individual entry phase! Depending on the meet, the relay-only deadline may be extended past the individual entry deadline. Make sure you check the meet announcement and/or the Club Assistant landing page for the entry deadline(s)!

Note: Remember that all relay swimmers MUST be entered in the meet, either with individual events or as a relay-only swimmer.

Adult Learn to Swim Instructor Workshop

Sunday, April 28, Graham Aquatic Center, Vacaville, 9-12AM

The ALTS instructional program is a nationally recognized system that teaches adults how to swim and be safer in the water. On April 28, the Pacific Masters Swimming ALTS Committee will host a 3-hour workshop to help volunteers/instructors learn this system. Led by USMS-certified ALTS instructors, it will include classroom and in-water instruction.

Pacific Masters Monthly Meeting

Join us Wednesday, April 17, for our monthly meeting via the Zoom platform. If this is your first time Zooming, we suggest you sign on a little early to ask questions and address technical issues. Even if you are familiar with Zoom, sign on early to say "hi" to your fellow swimmers.

USMS Spring Nationals

Indiana University Natatorium, June 20 - 24

Registration is now open. U.S. Masters Swimming is excited to invite you to Spring Nationals, to be held at the IU Natatorium.

This year offers extra excitement as the meet will take place during the final weekend of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Swimming, June 15–23 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

USMS members will have an exclusive opportunity to meet Olympians and swim in the Trials competition pool with a donation to the USA Swimming Foundation, which provides grants to USMS Adult Learn-to-Swim programs.

Senior Games - Bay Area, March 24

The swimming portion of The Senior Games, Bay Area, celebrating competition for those over 50 years of age, took place on March 24. It was a small, but mighty showing! Results

Marin Aquatic Masters SCY Meet, April 14 (Short and Sweet Meet)

This new addition to our Pacific Masters line-up was so popular it reached full capacity, and fast! Enjoy this event at the beautiful Miwok Aquatic Center in Novato. "Short and Sweet" is the theme with a line-up of 50s and 200s in all the strokes, mixed 200 Free and Medley relays, finishing up with a 500 Freestyle. Information and Registration

Del Valle Open Water Festival, June 8-9

Hosted by Tri Valley Masters, this is a two-day event with the 5k/10k on Saturday and the 1.5k/2.5k swims on Sunday. The Lake Del Valle event on Saturday is the 10k USMS National Championship. Information and Registration
