As Methodists, we are called to cultivate more disciples and deeper disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of our community and world. You are invited to join us on the journey.

You may be familiar with Daniel being saved from the lion's den, but his story is about so much more. The book of Daniel is all about God's people maintaining faithfulness to God, bearing witness, and making a difference, even in the face of persecution. Join us this Sunday for our current sermon series, Daniel: Prophet of Peril and Promise.

Gratitude Feast: Nominate Your Favorite Educator

Submit your nominees (lead teacher, specials teacher, aide, parapro, etc.) to the church office by Friday, June 28th.

To meet our goal of honoring educators from all MCS schools, the Community Engagement Team will build the guest list of 72 honorees from the pool of nominees. A personal invitation will then be made to each honoree to confirm availability, with formal invitation to follow.

Questions for the Community Engagement Team can be directed to Katie Sparrow.

Staying Connected

The Results Are In....

Congratulations to our top 3 finishers in the Inaugural PUMC U.S. Open Pick Em' Contest! First place after a heroic up and down on the final hole: Dave Hieronymus! After missing two short putts down the stretch Reid Edwards finishes in 2nd. Grinding out a respectable 3rd place position is Ernie Dumlao.

Many thanks to all 101 players for playing along! Top 3 finishers, please see Pastor Jabe for your prizes.

In the Spotlight, Emily Johnson

NC Conference Youth President Emily Johnson shared scripture and reflections on what it means to be followers of Christ in light of this year’s conference theme, with a focus on building relationships that transcend disagreement. She also offered quiet time for the laity to pause and consider how they can be people of reconciliation and hope in their own communities. Youth present at Annual Conference were recognized with appreciative applause. Read more...

Note of Thanks

Dear Pinehurst UMC,

Words are hard to find to express our gratitude for the many ways in which this church has been a life-giving blessing to us in these difficult days of Manny's sickness and passing. From the beginning, you have been so faithful with your prayers, your presence, your gifts and service. A love offering and gift cards. Flowers and expressions of hospitality. Clergy and laity from Pinehurst have been Emmanuel to us, God with us, in the living of these days.

In the letter to the church in Philippi the apostle Paul is quoted as saying, "I thank my God for you every time I think of you; and everytime I pray for you all." (Phillipians 1:16). We thank God for you at Pinehurst UMC every time we think of you all. Thanking God for your many gifts of grace and kindness.

May the Lord bless you and keep you!
