Coffee and Conversation

YPs came together for Coffee and Conversation at Sweet Lair in Menasha last month. This unique café venue not only had great food and drinks, but a whole host of board games to play! Perhaps a PULSE Game Night is in our future...

This casual networking event was also linked to a campaign for the Community Clothes Closet. PULSE members donated professional clothing for those in need in our community, and our basket was heaping full! Our next Coffee and Conversation is set in May and connected with the United Way. A special link will be needed to sign up and space is limited, so keep your eye out for more information.

Night at the Museum

PULSE traveled to the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum of Glass thanks to the Harp Gallery, our sponsor! It was a fun night of networking, guided tours, refreshments, and fine art. Our YPs had fun getting their creativity on, making their own suncatchers to take home with them. Check out photos from the event here!

PULSE Champion March Renewal

Fox Communities Credit Union and Palmer Group have renewed their Champion status in March! Both organizations enjoy working with and helping YPs to grow and find their true passion in the workforce.

From Fox Communities Credit Union: “Fox has been working with our YP’s continually to support them in any way possible to see them succeed. Our tuition support has been very successful as well as supporting team members in their journey to get more involved in community non-profit boards and committees.” – Heather Wessley

From The Palmer Group: “We are excited to continue this partnership and support young professionals across the Fox Cities!” – Lauren Abbas

We appreciate the businesses that Champion for our YPs in the workplace, and we continue to see growth of our Champion program with new organizations joining every month!

PULSE Volunteer Opportunities

Looking to volunteer with PULSE? Our clothing drive had great success, and now, we are planning a full-on volunteer opportunity with Heckrodt Wildlife Preserve on Thursday, May 23rd from 3 – 5 PM! This service project will help clean up the area and trails and be done alongside a guided hike through the reserve. Come help the community and work alongside fellow YPs this May! Volunteer sign ups will begin in April and can be done through our website so that we know how many people to expect to help. Come and be a part of giving back to the Fox Cities Community with PULSE!

Volunteer Opportunities in our Community:

Appleton ABC (A Better Chance) is looking for YPs to become Board and Committee Members. This college prep organization brings in high school students of color from all over the country. These high achieving students are educated here for free and then go on to college (at little or no charge) and likely continue to stay and work in our area. Once a part of Lawrence University, this organization has been in our community since the 1960s and is looking for new talent as they move into a new home and new chapter. If you are interested in learning more about the organization and how to get involved, reach out to Dan Freiermuth at dan.freiermuth@appletonabc.org. This is a great way to gain committee and board experience while giving back to the youth the organization serves and developing talent in the Fox Cities!

WisconSibs, an organization that helps sisters and brothers of people with special needs, is hosting a fundraiser and looking for Blackjack dealers for their event on Friday, April 19th, at Waverly Beach. Volunteers would arrive at 5:30 PM for training and then stay until around 10 PM. Contact Bill Grennell by April 12th if interested; bill@wisconsibs.org or 949-887-6293.
