Celebrate Public Power Week with Us

Public Power Week is October 6-12, and we want to celebrate with you!

Public Power Week is an annual celebration of the safe, reliable, and affordable electric service provided to approximately 54 million Americans.

Join us for our Customer Appreciation Dinner at the Columbia County Fairgrounds on Tuesday, October 8. Tickets are free and limited to the first 500. They can be picked up in our office.

CRPUD Rates are Lower than State, National Averages

We work hard to keep your rates stable and affordable.

Our residential rates are 45% lower than the national average and 30% lower than the statewide average.

They're 40% lower than those charged by PGE, which served the area before we began providing service.

September Events will Benefit GLOW Fund

We are holding two events this month to help raise funds for our GLOW Program.

We are partnering with MOD Pizza on Sunday, September 15. Mention this fundraiser on any order at MOD and we will receive 20% of the proceeds. You can also participate by using the code MODGIVES20 on online orders.

We are hosting a yard sale at our office September 18-20, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day.

All money raised at these events will go to our GLOW Fund. GLOW provides emergency bill payment assistance to income-qualified CRPUD customers.

If you are considering purchasing an electric vehicle (EV), please contact us before you do – especially if you plan on installing a charger at your home.

We are working to improve our electric system to accommodate the load added by EV chargers. Hearing from you ahead of time helps us ensure our system is up to the task.

Prepare Your Home Now for the Winter Weather Ahead

As we get closer to fall and the temperatures begin cooling, it's time to begin preparing your home for winter's chilly weather well ahead of time. Here are a few tips:

• Check insulation levels, especially in your attic.
• Seal air leaks around windows and doors.
• Service your heating system annually.
• Clean or replace your furnace filter regularly.

If you use electric heat, you can request a free home energy evaluation to find more ways to save.

September is National Preparedness Month

Now is the perfect time to create an emergency plan for you family.

If you don't already have one established, create one by discussing the following questions:

• What is my shelter plan?
• What is my evacuation route?
• How will I communicate with family members if we are separated?
• Where will we meet if our home is not accessible?

It's also a good time to assemble an emergency kit.
