Please join us in the sanctuary for Barb Kuhlmann’s Memorial Service in person or on Facebook Live this Saturday, July 30 at 3pm. We hope you can be with us! We will grieve and give thanks for Barb, we will sing songs, listen to scripture, read a book, tell stories and build a rainbow!

Cookies! Barb loved cookies! We will have a Cookie Table after the Memorial Service. Due to the high level of Covid in the community, we won’t be eating and drinking together after the service, so we will send you home with some yummy treats. If you would like to add to the cookie extravaganza, please drop them off anytime on Friday or early on Saturday morning – on the long table under the bulletin board in the Gathering Space… Let us know if you need the front door code.

Worship with Us this Sunday

July 31, 2022 | 10:00am In-person and Facebook Live...and later on Facebook

If you will be with us in person, please note that our Covid Team has made an adjustment in our Covid protocols. St Louis City and St Louis County continue to document a steady rise in COVID-19 cases in our community. We are also experiencing this with church members and friends. Therefore, PUCC is moving from '"asks recommended" to "masks strongly advised" until further notice.

It’s Christmas in July!

Join us!

We will sing some classic carols and hear a familiar scripture story!

We wish you a Merry Christmas!

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

School is out, many supplies are used up, and children will be taller by the end of summer. Let’s help school children be ready for next fall. Parkway UCC is asked to provide 300 2-pocket folders for the Isaiah 58 Back-to-School event on 30 July. Underwear and socks for any ages, small children through adult sizes would be most appreciated. We are also invited to host a game, activity booth, or resource table.

Isaiah 58 serves our neighbors in the Choteau, Jefferson, Cherokee, and S. Kingshighway boundaries. As you are able, please consider donating 2-pocket folders, socks, and underwear and place in the designated box in the church lobby by 29 July. Contact Evelyn Buretta: burettaevelyn@gmail.com

Humor

Why didn’t the sun go to college?

Because it already has a million degrees.

Ponder

I used to pray that God would feed the hungry, or do this or that, but now I pray that God will guide me to do whatever I'm supposed to do, what I can do. I used to pray for answers, but now I'm praying for strength. I used to believe that prayer changes things, but now I know that prayer changes us and we change things. ~St. Teresa of Calcutta

FatPocket—https://fatpocketband.com/home

FatPocket is the Midwest’s highest energy party band featuring the hottest horns, powerhouse vocalists and a setlist that keeps you on your feet. This band will move your guests to the dance floor for a nonstop dance party until the house lights turn on.

No backing tracks, no sheet music and no "standing still" on stage, FatPocket is a band that brings back the LIVE energy of the 60s-80s to the Top 40 Chart Toppers of today. Unlike a traditional wedding band, the FatPocket horns and singers are up front partying with you and strutting their moves for a one-of-a-kind experience that will leave your guests in awe.

Grizzlies Baseball Game

Sunday, August 21 | Gametime is 5:45pm

Take me out to the ballgame! Cheer on our Gateway Grizzlies with a dozen or more PUCCers as they face the Windy City ThunderBolts!

The Gateway Grizzlies are a professional baseball team based in the St. Louis suburb of Sauget, Illinois, in the United States. The Grizzlies are a member of the West Division of the Frontier League, which is a partner league of Major League Baseball.

This is a much more manageable excursion than going to a Cardinals game... so if you enjoy baseball and/or want an 'easier' adventure, this is the opportunity for you.

Please reserve your ticket(s) by contacting PUCCer Blake Lyons via phone/text 314-681-0620.

Tickets are $16 each. Please make checks to PUCC with Grizzlies in memo.

We can also work out carpooling a few days ahead.
