First citywide elected official endorses Walter Mosley in 57th district race

Wednesday, August 8, 2012 - Brooklyn, NY - Public Advocate Bill de Blasio today endorsed Walter T. Mosley for Assembly in the 57th district on the steps of City Hall. De Blasio is the first citywide elected official to endorse in the race.

This announcement comes on the heels of recent endorsements by Assemblyman Hakeem Jeffries, the Democratic nominee for Congress in NY-8, and City Council Member Letitia James. Mosley is building a coalition to work on the local, state, and federal levels to secure resources and fight for policies that most benefit the residents of central Brooklyn.

"Walter is a strong leader who cares deeply for New York's families and will fight for affordable housing, quality healthcare, and job creation that is sorely needed in Brooklyn. Only by sending progressive voices like Walter's to Albany can we continue to improve the lives of our working families."

Bill de Blasio has served as Public Advocate since 2010, after representing the 39th Council district in southwest Brooklyn for eight years. Walter T. Mosley currently serves as the New York State Committeeman and District Leader of the 57th district, representing Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Prospect Heights, and parts of Crown Heights and Bedford-Stuyvesant.
