The City of Edmonton is implementing exclusion zones where riding and parking shared e-scooters and e-bikes is not permitted. These zones will help keep high vehicle and pedestrian traffic areas safe and clear, to protect all road users.
Starting July 19, users cannot ride or park shared e-scooters and e-bikes east/west along Whyte (82) Avenue between 112 Street and 97 Street. Users can continue to cross Whyte Avenue at each intersection. Riders are encouraged to use the protected bike lane on 83 Avenue, instead of Whyte Avenue, when riding in the area, and are reminded that sidewalk riding is not allowed.
