Residential Parking Program update

June 18, 2024

The Urban Planning Committee recommended to City Council that the new Residential Parking Program (RPP) be paused. City Council will discuss this recommendation further at a Council meeting on July 3.

In the meantime, the City asks all residents, who have previously participated in the RPP in the 19 neighbourhoods, to continue to display their 2022 or 2023 issued permits. These neighbourhoods are Belgravia, Belvedere, Boyle Street, Central MacDougall, Century Park, Commonwealth Stadium, Garneau, Glengarry, Groat Estates, McKernan, NAIT, Northlands, Oliver, Parkallen, Rossdale, Royal Gardens, South Belgravia, Southgate and Windsor Park.

What does this mean for residents in a Residential Parking Program?

Residents in the Residential Parking Program areas are asked to continue to display their 2022 or 2023 permits in vehicles. Those who have lost, discarded or misplaced their physical permit, can use this form to request a replacement permit. The original parking program will be in effect pending further direction from City Council.

Those who recently moved into a neighbourhood with a Residential Parking Program and would like to park on-street during program hours can apply for a new permit here.

Please note that as part of this change, digital permits are paused. Residents who have discarded their physical permits as they applied for a digital permit are asked to reapply here.

Please note that vehicles displaying a 2022 or 2023 issued permit will not be ticketed. Also, if residents in one of 19 RPP neighbourhoods receive a parking ticket while the permit application is processed, they can call 780-496-5161 to report it along with providing proof of residence.
