Extreme heat response deactivated

The City of Edmonton has deactivated its extreme weather response for extreme heat as temperatures have returned to manageable levels. The activation started on Monday, July 15 at 9 a.m. and ended today, Wednesday, July 24 at 9 a.m.


Water Stations

Access to potable water remains available 24 hours a day at water bottle filling stations

attached to fire hydrants until September 30, 2024. Edmontonians needing water can go to one of the water bottle filling stations at these locations.


There are an additional 24 water bottle filling stations throughout LRT and Transit Centres that Edmontonians can use. 


Sector Emergency Response

The City’s extreme weather response supplements existing measures implemented by the Sector Emergency Response group, a collaboration of more than 25 agencies working together to ensure Edmonton’s most vulnerable people are safe during adverse weather conditions.
