Celebrate Bike Month with City cycling opportunities

June 5, 2024

June is Bike Month and this year the City has launched new cycling opportunities to celebrate it.

Edmontonians are encouraged to explore some fun initiatives to add more active transportation to their commute and leisure:

  • Check out a map of local businesses offering discounts or promotions to people cycling to their establishments in June.
  • Join the Bike Education Street Team on City-led rides hosted across Edmonton. These slow-paced, inclusive rides are aimed to increase comfort and confidence while cycling and to showcase available bike routes and infrastructure while educating about cycling rules.
  • Explore City Joy Ride pre-planned cycling routes. The City has created cycling routes and loops ranging from 7 to 40 km long. Maps are available to download for offline use through the Ride with GPS app or website. New routes will be added throughout the month of June.

These cycling opportunities complement the many community initiatives and City projects aimed at supporting equitable and sustainable transportation options for all Edmontonians. Detailed information about all initiatives and how to participate can be found at edmonton.ca/cycling.
