This year the Orange County Chapter of PRSA is Revving Up Recognition and Celebrating Classic Achievements in Public Relations!


And so, we invite you to “put the pedal to the metal” and enter the 2024 PROTOS

Awards. Submissions are now open! Complete details including submission deadlines and entry fees (same pricing as last year) are on the OCPRSA website.

In addition, OCPRSA continues the longstanding tradition of honoring exceptional public relations professionals and organizations for their commitment to the integrity, ethics and growth of our profession through our chapter’s Service Awards. Service nominations are FREE to submit and recognize the best in public relations excellence.

Join us for our next Morning Coffee With Media, where we’ll hear from The Orange County Register's senior editor and lead editor for Southern California News Group, Todd Harmonson. With the news-packed fall season fast approaching, Todd will share what’s on his mind as we watch local–and national–reactions to this pivotal election at a not-to-be-missed live event moderated by Brenda Springer, Reveille founder and CEO. In this exclusive conversation, Harmonson will also touch on the impact of social issues on our local community and rich stories from his years of experience in the news industry. Please note this LIVE, in-person event will NOT be live-streamed!


Harmonson is an award-winning journalist who spent much of his career as a sports reporter and is the president and chairman of the board of the all-volunteer California Scholastic Press Association. Revered for his column writing, Harmonson has been honored by the Associated Press Sports Editors, the Orange County Press Club and California State University, Fullerton’s Communications Wall of Fame.

The Orange County Public Relations Society of America is looking to invest in a student or recent graduate for its academic internship. This remote internship offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in Communications and Public Relations (PR). The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling, content creation, PR, and a desire to learn and grow.

In 2020, Smith received the PR Week Purpose Award for his work in the MusiCares®' COVID-19 Relief campaign and was awarded the PRSA Silver Anvil in Issues Management.
