Members of the Colorado Wing's Dakota Ridge Composite Squadron were able to volunteer with ground crews as they made their way through the Denver metro area recently as part of the Flying Legends of Victory Tour. They spoke with the men and woman who keep these historic aircraft flying.
Such events are a welcome sight this year for Civil Air Patrol members, who frequently provided support for regional shows across America before the COVID-19 pandemic. If your unit is providing assistance at an air show this summer, please let us know at mac@capnhq.gov.

Two More CAP Cadets Achieve Spaatz Award | |
Cadet Col. Alex M. Goodin (right) of the West Virginia Wing’s Parkersburg Composite Squadron has achieved his Gen. Carl A. Spaatz Award, CAP’s top cadet honor, after passing the exam for the award on his first attempt.
Also receiving the Spaatz award recently is Cadet Col. Phillip Moshenskiy (below). He is a member of the Tennessee Wing’s Cleveland Composite Squadron.

Attaining the Spaatz award requires completion of 16 achievements in CAP’s cadet program. The final step includes a physical fitness test, an essay exam testing moral reasoning, and comprehensive written exams on leadership and aerospace education.
Less than one-half of 1% of all cadets achieve the Spaatz award, which includes promotion to the highest cadet rank — cadet colonel.
