Introducing: Soprano Lauren Margison
Recognized at an early age for her ability to communicate with an audience, soprano Lauren Margison joined the prestigious Atelier Lyrique de l'Opéra de Montréal as one of their youngest members ever in the fall of 2016. This past summer, Ms. Margison placed as a finalist in the prestigious and highly competitive Meistersingers Vocal Competition in Nürnberg.
A versatile soprano, she has performed extensively both in Canada and internationally, specializing in classical, jazz and pop repertoire. Some highlights to date include performances for Opera Ontario, the TD Toronto Jazz Festival, The Beaches Jazz Festival, the Ottawa Chamber Music Festival, The Cincinnati Pops, Hannaford Street Silver Band, the noon hour concerts at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, Richard Bradshaw Amphitheatre, Ottawa Choral Festival Gala, and the Venetian Ball under the baton of Marco Armiliato, (fundraiser for Villa Charities, Toronto) held on the main stage of the Four Seasons' Centre for the Performing Arts.
Ms. Margison performs across Canada with her father, Richard Margison, in their vocal duo, 'Back to Back', and continues to hone her vocal art under the tutelage of Richard Margison and Valerie Kuinka.
Listen to some of her performances here and don't miss Lauren's solo performance with the orchestra during the Saturday, June 17th symphony concerts at 1:30 and 7:30 pm at the Evergreen Theatre.

Volunteer with PRISMA
Join the PRISMA team! Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization and work under the guidance of a combination of professional and volunteer staff and a dedicated board of directors. Enjoy contributing to the arts in a fun environment while earning complimentary access to festival concert(s).
HOMESTAYS
With our move towards free tuition for as many students as possible with the Musical Merit Scholarship Fund, we need more homestays than ever!
Our students come to Powell River from all over the world, and the community of Powell River is frequently cited as one of their favourite parts of the festival. If you're interested in billeting a student or two or have any questions, do contact us.
Here's what homestays Madeleine and Fraser said about their experience hosting PRISMA students for the last couple seasons:
"Hosting a PRISMA home stay student is easy. The students are mature and look after themselves, and PRISMA provides their lunches and dinners. Just breakfast and a ride to and from the Complex needed. The benefits?Beautiful music in the house, meeting some of these talented young people, and helping PRISMA--win-win!"
We are also seeking volunteers for ushering, box office support, wine pouring, and more.
