*NEW John R. Lewis Social Justice Policy Fellowship

The NREI John R. Lewis Social Justice Policy Fellowship, offered by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF), provides young Black professionals with the opportunity to work in Congress and with the Foundation on social justice and racial equity issues affecting the Black community. Fellows undergo two six-month rotations in the U.S. Congress with Congressional Black Caucus members and the CBCF’s Center for Policy Analysis and Research (CPAR). They conduct social justice policy research and analysis, engage in legislative development, attend briefings, and produce publications on various topics including criminal justice reform, education, economic development, and health equity. Candidates must be vaccinated against COVID-19, have U.S. citizenship or a work permit, possess superior analytical and communication skills, and demonstrate a commitment to social justice. Fellowship benefits include a $70,000 salary, full benefits, and transitional housing.

Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) Fellowship Program

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) Fellowship Program aims to train early career policy professionals to contribute effectively to public policy. There are three types of fellowships offered: Congressional Fellows, John R. Lewis Social Justice Fellows, and Research Fellows.

All fellows participate in professional development sessions, engage in a social impact service project, and set SMART goals for each rotation. The program requires candidates to have a graduate-level degree, familiarity with the federal legislative process, superior analytical and communication skills, and a commitment to social justice.

The selection process is highly competitive, with fewer than 10% of applicants accepted annually. Successful applicants receive a full salary and benefits for the duration of the program. Additionally, transitional housing is provided through a partnership with Airbnb.

Japanese Government (MEXT) Research Students Fellowship

The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) is offering a prestigious scholarship in collaboration with the University of Oxford for alumni of its Leadership Institute. Two exceptional candidates will receive full funding to pursue a master’s degree at Magdalen College, Oxford, focusing on various disciplines related to foreign policy and national security. The program aims to develop Black American leaders with a global perspective and foster diversity in these fields. Eligible candidates must be alumni of the CBCF Leadership Institute, hold a bachelor’s degree by May 2024, and be between 21 and 32 years old with a GPA of 3.7 or higher preferred. Application requirements include a personal statement, three letters of recommendation, CV, official transcripts, and a professional headshot.

TMCF Honda HBCU Scholarship

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and American Honda Motor Co., Inc. are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). Forty-one (41) scholars will be selected to receive a fall need-based scholarship up to $10,000 ($5,000 per semester) for the 2024-2025 academic school year (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees). The applicant must be an active participant in a university band program.

TMCF MassMutual Corporate Scholarship

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and MassMutual are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending one of TMCF’s member-schools that include 53 publicly-supported HBCUs, HBCCs, PBIs, medical and law schools. Five (5) scholars will be selected to receive a 2-year renewable scholarship up to $16,000 for 2024-2025 academic school year (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees). The applicant must be a full-time junior and pursuing a degree in math, statistics, actuarial science, economics, finance, liberal arts, cyber security, computer science, data science, engineering, physics, and business.

TMCF Sanofi Next Gen Scholarship

The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Sanofi are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Fifty (50) scholars will be selected to receive a need-based scholarship up to $15,000 for the 2024-2025 academic school year (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees). This scholarship is open to healthcare or related majors or fields of study such as STEM; Public Health; Finance; Marketing/Sales; IT/Digital.

TMCF United Health Foundation Diversity in Health Care Scholarship Program

The United Health Foundation is working to advance health equity and eliminate health disparities by helping support a health workforce that reflects the populations it serves. Seventy-five (75) scholars will be selected to receive a renewable scholarship up to $5,000 (up to 4 years, max up to $20,000) for the 2024-2025 academic school year (which can only be applied to verifiable costs associated with average tuition and usual fees). The United Health Foundation, the philanthropic foundation of the UnitedHealth Group, has committed $100 million to support a workforce that draws on a diversity of backgrounds and experiences to provide culturally competent care.

The TMCF | Walmart Foundation HBCU First Generation Scholarship offers financial support to exceptional students enrolled at one of TMCF's member schools, including historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), PBIs, medical, and law schools. Fifty-seven scholars will be selected to receive up to $7,000 for the 2024-2025 academic year, specifically for tuition and usual fees. Eligible candidates must be first-generation college students, have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, demonstrate financial need, and be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents.

The UNESCO Prize for Girls' and Women's Education is an opportunity that recognizes outstanding efforts and contributions in advancing education for girls and women worldwide. Inquire Higher is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes the success of Black students and professionals through multimedia and community support. It will award The Black Student Success Scholarship to at least two students in 2024: 1) one high school senior who plans to enter college or trade school in Fall 2024, and 2) a current undergraduate or trade school student who expects to graduate in Fall 2024 or later!

Scholarships amounts will be awarded up to $1,500, dependent on funds and number of qualified applicants. Winners will also have access to college success mentorship and career guidance resources from Inquire Higher. Future Nobel Laureates Scholarship Program 

During this fully-funded program, the selected students will participate in and receive credit for an online project-based course in intercultural communication and travel to Sweden for an international field experience, where they will attend sessions at the 2024 Nobel Week Dialogue: a collaborative event that brings some of the world's leading scientists, policy-makers, and thinkers together to explore scientific topics through a global lens. Led by distinguished international faculty leaders, scholarship recipients will tackle global challenges through action learning projects.

*NEW Yale Law School Launchpad Scholars Program

The Yale Law School Launchpad Scholars Program, powered by Latham & Watkins, is for applicants who are planning to apply to law school in the fall of 2025, with the goal of enrolling in law school in the fall of 2026. The program is open to current college students as well as college graduates. Applicants must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.3 and must be 18 years old by the time the program begins. The Colin Powell Leadership Program

The Colin Powell Leadership Program recruits highly motivated candidates from diverse backgrounds who possess the potential and aspiration to become future Civil Service leaders at the State Department. This paid program includes a fellowship program for recent college graduates and internships for bachelor’s degree students who are enrolled at accredited institutions of higher education. Both paths will lead to full-time employment opportunities at the Department and are focused on developing future leaders through official training, mentoring, and on-the-job experience for long-term success.
