MENDOZA LEADS GUERRA IN THE 32ND STATE SENATORIAL RACE

Mendoza currently holds a 19-point lead

over his Republican Opponent 

NORWALK, CA - Democratic State Senate candidate Tony Mendoza released today the results of a recent poll commissioned by his campaign which shows him with a 19% lead over his Republican opponent, Mario Guerra.

When asked whom they were most likely to vote for without providing information on the candidates, forty-seven percent (47%) of respondents surveyed picked Mendoza while only twenty-eight percent (28%) picked Guerra.  After sharing paragraphs describing positive information about both candidates taken from their respective websites, Mendoza maintained a 21-point lead.

"I am excited about these results," said Mendoza.  "But I don't take anything lightly.  We are going to continue to have conversations with the voters of the 32nd District about the issues that affect them such as education, the environment, public safety, jobs and the economy.  I am going to continue running a positive campaign that is worthy of the people we seek to lead and the California that we all love."

The poll of 405 likely voters in California's 32nd State Senatorial District was conducted September 16 and 17, 2014 by Goodwin Simon Strategic Research of Culver City, CA.  All respondents were part of a fully representative sample of registered general election voters.  Twenty-three percent (23%) of the interviews were conducted in Spanish, and the same proportion of interviews were completed using wireless telephone numbers.  The confidence level associated with a sample of this size is 95% which gives us a margin of error of plus or minus 5%.
