Long Beach, Calif. - Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) at Long Beach State University (LBSU) proudly presents the opening of the dedicated and newly named Laurén Chalmers '83 Beach Pantry. Through a transformational gift from alumna Laurén Chalmers, we are privileged to dedicate the beloved ASI Beach Pantry in tribute to Chalmers' enduring legacy.
As an alumna of LBSU, Laurén Chalmers earned her Bachelor of Science in marketing in 1983. During her time on campus, she was an active member of Alpha Phi Sorority. She also dedicates her time to several charitable causes, including St. Margaret's Episcopal School and JSerra Catholic High School. Laurén currently holds a position on the Board of Trustees for the Orange County Museum of Art.
This naming marks a significant milestone in the pantry's journey, and we invite you to the dedication event March 8 at 11 a.m. in USU-116. The program will include remarks from ASI, campus partners, administration and Mrs. Laurén Chalmers with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The Laurén Chalmers '83 Beach Pantry will continue its mission to provide essential resources to address food insecurity on our campus in perpetuity, offering a welcoming and inclusive space for the Beach student community.
