September in EG

Summer travel is winding down, the fancy cars have left Carmel, kids are back in school, and the Monterey peninsula settles into another beautiful season. PREG members are contacting county staff and Board of Supervisors to see what progress has been made on the issues that concern East Garrison residents and Friends of EG. We're hoping YOU will take action too - your voice is important!

EG Paying for MST Bus Service? More News

The whole bus service thing stems from a line in the 2004 Specific Plan that EG HOA will "provide and/or fund transit service" That was a long time ago, but the mandate keeps showing up in plans and Agreements.

Last month's PREG question was "East Garrison HOA is being asked to finance bus service - what do you think?" Of the 75 respondents,

  • 2% answered "the HOA SHOULD finance bus service"
  • 4% said "the HOA SHOULD finance bus service somehow, but not by buying bus passes"
  • 93% said "the HOA SHOULD NOT be expected to finance bus service"

That's a pretty clear mandate.

The next step is to let MST and the Board of Supervisors know how residents feel. Here is a link to a PETITION - a quick way to show our strength. You're welcome to write letters to the Board as well (addresses below).

We need lots of data about who rides - or would ride - the bus, so please take a minute for this quick SURVEY

Remember to Vote!

Voting is one of the most important things you can do to make EG an even more wonderful place to live. Townhome folks have two HOA boards, homeowners have one. Our community is shaped by our leadership, our leadership is chosen by those who vote. Thanks in advance for your contribution to EG!
