Support for Academy Class 464
PPOA was honored to take part in a fundraiser for Academy Class 464 on November 23 at Norwalk Station. Lunch was grilled on the PPOA BBQ trailer for all in attendance and the turnout was truly impressive, including a visit from Sheriff-Elect Luna, peace officers from agencies throughout LA and Orange Counties, and a line of supporters that seemingly wrapped around the station. Click here to see news coverage of the event, which raised $70,000 to help cover medical expenses for the 25 recruits who were injured last month when a wrong-way driver plowed into the academy class during a training run in Whittier.

November 29: PPOA staff delivered a treadmill to CRDF on Tuesday for use in the employee gym. In a continuing effort to support members, PPOA's Star & Shield Foundation teams up with New Life Cardio Equipment (NLCE) each year to secure a limited number of treadmills and ellipticals for employee gyms at facilities throughout the County. The machines are purchased by the Foundation at discounted pricing and delivered by PPOA to units in need of new exercise equipment. We've also arranged for NLCE to extend special pricing to any PPOA members interested in purchasing cardio equipment for personal use at home. For more info, call New Life Cardio at (800) 401-2446 and tell them you're a member of the Professional Peace Officers Association.
