Give Local 757 & Walkathon Success

With our collective efforts for the Give Local 757 campaign, PPCC was able to raise over $8,000 in just 24 hours! Along with this exciting news, we also completed two HUGE challenges: 1- We had 100% Board participation 2- We completed the Nifty 50 Challenge in which we received donations from individuals in ALL 50 states!

Our Walkathon event was a huge hit, too!

Thank you to ALL who participated in donating and walking with us!

As we continue to celebrate our 50th anniversary, our center got to "celebrate," too! New begonias were planted last week!

VA Center for Inclusive Communities to Conduct Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Training

This spring, Paula Bazemore, Program Manager, Virginia Center for Inclusive Communities (VCIC), provided professional development for PPCC staff.  Through group discussions, role plays, and exercises, Paula helped staff reflect on their unconscious biases, build bridges of understanding, and work together to create a place of belonging.

Deep Breath Parenting

In April, Hampton Baptist Church, one of PPCC's partner congregations hosted a parenting workshop led by PPCC counselors. After a light lunch on a Sunday afternoon, Cheryl Guyton and Deborah Lewis helped parents slow down with breath work, tackle important topics, and have some fun!  Cheryl and Deborah provided creative and practical resources for parents to use in daily life and provided time at the end for questions. PPCC is a resource for congregations who would like to host workshops on a variety of topics. Call 757-873-2273 or email office@peninsulapastoral.org for more information.

Have you ever wondered what we do every day at PPCC? Come in and find out! We are seeking to spread the word about our work in the community. Every month we host group tours in our center to learn about our mission. The tour is one hour long. Attendees are not asked for a donation, but are asked to accept a follow up phone call for feedback. If you would like to attend or host a tour, please contact Ford McFall at 757-873-2273.
