A Message From Our PPAMidwest President......

I must admit that the start of September excites me! Fall is my favorite season of the year and, before you say it, no, pumpkin spice is not the reason for my excitement. Although I am sure a lot of you are excited for that first seasonal fix of pumpkin. For me personally, Fall brings to mind thoughts of outdoor bonfires, hayrides, beautiful colors all around us, and of course, our annual Fall Holiday Showcases. It’s hard to believe but we are just a few weeks away now from our shows and your Board of Directors is so excited to welcome all of you this year! We have an amazing selection of exhibitors and have partnered with PPAI to provide an education session including breakfast for anyone who chooses to attend. Be on the lookout for the specifics in the next few weeks and plan to join us early at both shows. We will have a special guest speaker from PPAI which we know you’ll enjoy, and I will also be sharing with you the importance and value of your membership with PPAMidwest.


Don’t forget to mark your calendars:

  • The return of our Pickleball Tournament this Fall. This year we are hosting a tournament in both KC and STL. November 13th will be in Overland Park, KS and November 14th will be in St. Charles, MO. More details and registration to come soon.
  • Fall Holiday Showcases on 10/8 in KC and 10/10 in STL. We will return to the same locations as our Spring Shows.
  • Holiday Parties and Annual Membership Meetings-plans are underway and will be announced soon. Both parties will be held in early December this year.



September 21st is World Gratitude Day, a perfect day to express your gratitude to your staff, families and clients. Allow me to be first in offering thanks this month. Grapevine Designs Acquires Belleview Branding


Lenexa, KS – Kansas City based promotional marketing agency Grapevine Designs recently announced that they have acquired Belleview Branding, another Kansas City based promotional marketing firm.

The two entities will operate under the Grapevine Designs banner which affords both companies additional service sets and bandwidth. Belleview Branding brings an amazing list of clients and experience to Grapevine.

Grapevine Designs, a Top 100 Distributor (PPAI), brings a sophisticated design-centric agency dynamic, unique capabilities as well as a WBENC certification to the team.


The terms of the deal allow both groups to continue to operate from their respective locations and to utilize their existing personnel.

Charles River Apparel Promotes Jason Lipsett To President


Sharon, MA Charles River Apparel recently announced that Jason Lipsett has been promoted to president of the company, effective September 12, 2024. 

 

His appointment marks three generations of Lipsetts at the helm of the New England-based firm, which his grandfather, Walter Lipsett, founded in 1983. Barry Lipsett, Jason's father, will continue to serve as CEO, partnering with his son to lead the company going forward.

 

“I feel a great responsibility stepping into this role and am deeply mindful of what it means for our employees, our customers and our community,” says Jason. “I’m committed to creating a work environment built around respect, teamwork and a growth mindset. ASB Announces Maxx Rochette as Vice President of Canadian Solutions for Business



Glenwood, MN – American Solutions for Business recently announced the appointment of Maxx Rochette as Vice President of the newly established Canadian Solutions for Business (CSB).

 

In this role, Rochette will oversee strategic initiatives and foster a collaborative environment as CSB evolves within the Canadian market. Maxx brings 12 years of experience in the promotional products industry, beginning his career in sales and working his way up to senior leadership within his previous distributor.

 

"I’m excited about the opportunity with CSB because it provides a platform to leverage my experience in customer relationship management while contributing to a company known for its commitment to client satisfaction," shares Rochette. "I’m particularly drawn to the chance to work on initiatives to enhance customer experiences and streamline processes, as I have a strong passion for developing strategies that drive customer loyalty and business growth. Rochette will work closely with ASB’s Founder and CEO, Larry Zavadil, as well as VP of Vendor Relations, Marketing & Events, Dana Zezzo to develop the company’s strategic vision.

First introduced in 1958, the PPAI Pyramid Award recognizes promotional products businesses and helps shine the spotlight on the collaborative business model unique to our industry.

 

To be eligible for the 2025 PPAI Pyramid Competition, all campaigns must have been developed and conducted between April 1, 2023, and April 1, 2024. Interested applicants have until September 27th to submit
