Join us for a motorcoach visit to Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park in Felton to absorb the beauty and serenity of the old-growth Redwood forest.
You'll be amazed to behold the stillness of the rainforest and feel the temperature drop amongst the 300' tall trees, some of which are 2000 years old!
We'll be greeted by the Park Interpretive Rangers and split into two groups for an easy walking tour along the Redwood Grove Loop trail, which passes through a huge grove with some of California's tallest and oldest Redwood trees.
One of the largest trees within this loop is the Giant, with a noteworthy 270-foot height and 17-foot width. The Fremont Tree is another interesting tree with a hollowed-out trunk that visitors can crawl through to explore the inside of the tree.
Your hour-and-a-half walk (approx. 8/10 mi.) will take you through the shady forest on ADA-accessible decomposed granite paths. You will end with a picnic lunch break provided by LARPD.
If you are ready for more exploration after lunch, feel free to continue by stopping by the Visitor Center to pick up a map of the park and trail system or some gift shopping at the Nature Store. Don't forget to find the renowned ice cream for your finale of the day (on your own).
