Melakwa Lake is a stunning turquoise lake located near Snoqualmie Pass and is one of my all-time favorites. I couldn't wait to hike here this week (even though this trail intimidates me a little). I am not sure what it is about this hike but I always get nervous - probably because I have hiked it so many times and know what lies ahead! The trail is not only steep, but it meanders deep, and I mean deep, into the Alpine Lake Wilderness Area so it's extremely remote. After passing a few waterfalls and crossing over several bridges, I made it to Hemlock Pass and then down to the lake.
I enjoyed some snacks, and the moody views, then ran back to the trailhead!
