This week, I hiked to the lookout tower at the summit of Granite Mountain and it was amazing! I was hiking solo this time and began my adventure around 8:30 am. The air was very warm and this trail is really exposed so I was prepared with a lot of water. In addition, the elevation gain is around 3,800 over 4.3 miles - so steep! About halfway up, I noticed the sky looked like a sunset; however it was only 11am! There were a lot of bugs out so I kept a quick pace all the way to the top and would only stop to take photos of the wildflowers! The bear grass are my favorite and they are in full bloom right now so that was beautiful to see! Such a great PNW day!
