PNA TEAM SPOTLIGHT

Shannon Mohar, MANSI Media client relations consultant &

PNA Foundation projects associate

What made you get into this industry?

As a child, I was interested in the news industry because we discussed our days and what was going on around the world at our dinner table. That’s where I first learned a lot.

Then, I had an adviser at Towson University who suggested pursuing a major in mass communications due to my interest in the news.

My first job opportunity was to work for a magazine specializing in horses, which was appealing to me as it mixed my love of animals and my career in news. Here I also discovered that I enjoy working on the client side.

Do you have any advice for someone just starting out?

Be very open-minded and willing to learn when working with those around you.
