Chesapeake Bay Update


EPA Administrator Michael Regan has pledged to reestablish the Federal Leadership Committee, enhancing coordination among federal agencies to achieve Chesapeake Bay restoration goals. This renewed commitment promises continued progress and collaborative efforts in preserving the Bay’s ecosystem.

EPA Announces $41 Million in Grants Available for Stormwater and Sewer Infrastructure Upgrades


The EPA has announced nearly $41 million in funding through the Sewer Overflow and Stormwater Reuse Municipal Grant program to improve stormwater and sewer infrastructure, particularly in disadvantaged communities. This initiative aims to bolster resilience against climate-induced intense rainfall and ensure cleaner waterways by preventing untreated sewage and contaminants from polluting water sources.


The money can be used for sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs) and combined sewer overflows (CSOs) which are part of the pipeline but need to be addressed at the sewage treatment plant, so sewer, is also part of it.
