Linda Carlson Named March Winner of the

Anchored in the Laker Way Award

Community Education Services Administrative Assistant Linda Carlson has been named the March 2024 recipient of the Anchored in the Laker Way Award. This monthly award celebrates Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools Community Education Services staff who are anchored in providing a strong foundation of community service, an innovative and supportive leader, a respectful team member, and committed to lifelong learning and excellence.

Here is what Linda’s colleagues had to share:

Linda Carlson is amazing! She is happy to help with any work assignment, from repetitive tasks like sending out daily class rosters and online class emails/links to the critically important job of checking in CE after school classes, making sure that students are where they are supposed to be and instructors have what they need. She takes total responsibility for the volunteers at the Dance with Me Ball and is great working with the students who volunteer to be princesses and princes and finds the perfect costume fit for each one. So, whether it is a kindergartener who doesn't want to stay for an after school class or a high school student volunteering at an event, Linda is wonderful at building relationships with all of our students. She is also an excellent resource when I am brainstorming a new class/event or need input on how to improve a process. Linda lives in Lakeville, but wears her PLSAS CE clothing with pride and even bought more Laker wear!

Linda is always willing to help and goes above and beyond. She is so good with the kids for class check-ins and makes it run smoothly. She is such a joy and I am thankful she is in the office.

Linda is such a pleasure to work with. She is always putting the needs of others first and is willing to jump in whenever needed. She is extremely polite whether answering questions on the phone about a class or from an afterschool student like “why is the sky blue?” She is truly committed to the PLSAS District and serving our community.

Please join us in congratulating Linda on this award!

We need your input! Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools has begun a strategic plan review and is seeking input to help establish a shared vision among community members.

To participate, families, staff, students and community members will have an opportunity to provide feedback during community meetings being held February - April. Input gathered from these meetings will be reviewed by a Strategic Plan Core Team of diverse community members who are working together to form a draft that identifies key priorities and defines the roadmap for learner success in PLSAS. The draft plan will then be reviewed by the School Board in May.

Please consider attending one of the community meetings outlined below.

  • April 9, 6-9:00 p.m. @ Prior Lake High School, 7575 150th St. West, Savage (RSVP for dinner to mwalz@plsas.org)
