I want to extend a heart yasher koach to everyone who led and participated in Kabbalat Shabbat and Shabbat morning services while the rabbi and his family were in Israel. As a social studies teacher I talk about the theme of continuity and change. Our signature PJC service continued, but also changed with your wonderful voices in prayer, delivering Torah, and guiding us, which truly made our beit kneset special. If you have thought about learning a part of the service for a future date, please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of help.

Photo Book on Oct 7th Available for Viewing

On a recent trip to Israel, PJC member Larry Cohen attended a moving exhibit of photographs from October 7th. He purchased a book that features many of those images and shares the story of what happened that day. We are thankful that Larry is temporarily loaning that book to the PJC, and members can visit the office to view the book.

Please see this letter from Larry to the PJC for more information: https://thepjc.org/wp-content/uploads/PJC-Book-and-Letter.pdf

For readers of Leave the World Behind and Exit West, an astonishingly resonant novel that explores the precariousness of Jewish American life through one family after a black hole consumes the State of Israel and similar strange events occur in major cities around the world, ushering in a time of chaos as well as miracles.

I am pleased to announce that our own Rabbi Benjamin Resnick will join our Book Group on Monday, October 28th at 8:00pm to discuss his novel, Next Stop. A Zoom link will be provided separately.

The book is expected to be released in early September. For more details, please click here: Next Stop by Benjamin Resnick
