Hello from PJ Library Calgary! This is Sydney, PJ Library Program and Development Manager, with your July update!

The sun is finally shining, the days are longer, and Summer is officially here! It's the perfect time to dive into new adventures, create lasting memories, and, of course, enjoy some wonderful books!. We hope this season brings you joy, relaxation, and plenty of opportunities for family bonding. Wishing you a summer filled with warmth and happiness.

PJOW families please remember to go into your accounts and choose your books by the 10th of the month. Parents of children who are 8 1/2 and older, can now activate their children's accounts at pjourway.org.

Please remember to email us if your family has moved and note that it takes around six weeks for an address change to be processed.

As always, we want to know if there is a new family who we should welcome to PJ Library, or if you have added a baby to yours.

Take care and stay in touch!

PJ Library is hiring parent connectors for the upcoming year!

Thanks to a generous 2nd year grant renewal from the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, PJ Library is once again hiring Parent Connectors!

We are looking for PJ Library parents to help spark connections and create welcoming and inclusive programs for families. Parent Connectors will nurture relationships among families, create new, low barrier Jewish experiences, and provide PJ Library inspired Jewish content to families raising Jewish children.

If you're interested in applying, send your resume and cover letter to Sydney Truax at struax@jewishcalgary.org by July 21st, 2024
  • PJ Our Way kids have until the 10th of the month to log in and choose their next middle-grade book or graphic novel.

  • Check out the three PJ Library books available on Kinzoo Together, an app that integrates storybooks and games into video calls so family members in different locations can spend quality time reading and playing together.
  • If you know a middle-grade reader who enjoys magical adventures like the Percy Jackson or Harry Potter books, PJ Library has a recommended summer reading list of fantasy novels that will take them to other worlds. All the books prominently feature Jewish heroes, content, and culture.
Got questions? New to the community or looking to make connections with other families? I can help!
