AUGUST ATHLETE OF THE MONTH

WALT PLIMPTON

Basketball Player

Walt is a basketball player and rising freshman at The Lawrenceville School. He is now standing at 6’4 (and still going) and decided that this summer was going to be the one for change. Averaging 4 times a week in the gym, and not just showing up, but busting his A*S every time he is here, has transitioned this young man into an absolute beast! His strength, power, and overall athleticism has EXPLODED.

We have trained Walt since he was about 11 years old, but now that he is maturing, his future has never looked brighter. Not just an athletic and hard-working student athlete, but a kind, easy to talk to, respectful, motivated, and a great all-around individual. The Lawrenceville School has a nice treat coming their way!

We just wanted to recognize his hard work and achievements this summer, and wanted to say “Congrats, Walt”! It has been a pleasure watching you grow physically and emotionally over the past few years, and we look forward to the next four years of guiding and watching you excel even more.

We are proud to call you one of our own, and you should be proud of your accomplishments.

8 REASONS TO EAT MORE PROTEIN

1.     Reduce Hunger: Protein helps to make you feel full longer. You can simply reduce carbs and increase protein without restricting your food intake and still lose weight and gain muscle mass.

2.     Increase Muscle Mass: If you are physically active, lifting weights, or trying to lose weight, protein will assist in gaining muscle mass while losing fat.

3.     Bone Health: Lower risk of osteoporosis and fractures as you age by consuming enough protein.

4.     Curb Cravings: Studies have shown that a high-protein diet can reduce late-night snacking to improve overall health.

5.     Boost Metabolism: A high protein intake can help burn more calories throughout the day.

6.     Lowers Blood Pressure: Protein and exercise can improve high blood pressure therefore preventing your risk of heart attack, stroke, and heart disease.

7.     Maintain Weight Loss: A high-protein diet boosts metabolism and leads to an automatic reduction in calorie intake and cravings.

8.     Healing: Protein is the building block of your tissue and organs. A higher protein intake after injury can help speed up recovery.
