Dear Catechetical Leaders,
This is it; although July 3 is my official retirement day, I have a few days to use up, so I will take them. Again, I will miss you all very much, and it has been a pleasure to minister with you all through the years. Thank you for all you do and have done in service to our Lord and the Diocese of Metuchen. A replacement has not been hired yet, but I feel someone will be in the role by summer’s end at the latest. I know that you will be in good hands. Know that you will all be in my prayers.
Just so you know, tomorrow will be my last day responding to emails and being able to take calls. Don’t hesitate to contact Anna if you need anything; she will assist you.
I look forward to seeing those who can make it tomorrow for cake at the diocesan center. And, for those who can’t make it, I do understand. God Bless you all.

If you do not hear from your pastor in this regard, please mention the contracts to your pastor so that if he didn’t see it, you will know, or if you need to contact our office about it, please email Anna and let her know and she will send you another copy.

Open Confirmation and First Communion Retreats
Thank you to those who shared their Confirmation & First Communion retreat dates with us. We continue to get inquiries from PCLs and parents and appreciate the parishes open to students from other parishes. If you are having a Confirmation or First Communion Retreat at your parish and can welcome students that can't make it to their parishes retreat, please let us know. Please feel free to email me at cmascola@diometuchen.org with the logistics of your retreat, and we will add it to our list.

The Faith for a Lifetime Symposium will explore how every church community can foster the faith of every age and generation - for a lifetime. The two-day Symposium will focus on the "how to" of building a culture of lifelong faith growth in today's world. We will explore:
- the vision and practices for making lifelong learning and faith formation a reality in every church community,
- the challenges facing faith formation and how to creatively and innovatively address them through a lifelong approach,
- research conducted by Lifelong Faith on effective practices in faith formation with age groups, parents and families, and the intergenerational faith community,
- how to create initiatives that build a culture of lifelong learning and faith formation in your church.
Every participant will create a blueprint for making their church a community that fosters Faith for a Lifetime.

Hard as Nails Ministry Breakthrough Event

National Eucharistic Pilgrimage
The National Eucharistic Pilgrimage (NEP)has publicly launched! The NEP (https://www.eucharisticpilgrimage.org/) will consist of four cross-country Eucharistic processions, collectively traversing the entire continental United States over a two-month period, beginning during the feast of Pentecost, May 17-19, 2024.
The pilgrimage is being organized by the National Eucharistic Revival campaign in conjunction with Modern Catholic Pilgrim, a Catholic nonprofit dedicated to deepening the faith across the country through pilgrimages. Along the way, the pilgrims will make stops in major U.S. cities, churches, Catholic colleges, and holy sites. Parishes along the routes will host Mass, adoration, devotions, praise and worship, lectures on the Eucharist, and more.
The Seton Route, which will begin in New Haven, Connecticut, will be passing through the Diocese of Metuchen on May 29-30, 2024. The four pilgrimage processions will ultimately converge in Indianapolis on July 16, 2024, to participate in the National Eucharistic Congress. Adam Carlisle, Secretary for Evangelization and Communication, will be helping to organize our diocese’s involvement.
